AS A YOGA INSTRUCTOR it is imperative to build and continuously expand your knowledge base of anatomy. Understanding the body’s major joints, muscle groups and connective tissue and their delicate interplay in asana will allow you to better read students’ bodies, make intelligent and safe hands-on adjustments, and give pointed verbal cuing to produce the best results for your students.
Whether as a student teacher, understanding some basic anatomy will deepen your practice. Asa yoga practitioner, anatomical awareness will help align your physical asana into a state of sukha(happiness and ease), keeping your body safe while breathing with mind and body awareness.
