Sue Ravazollo, Director
SENIOR INSTRUCTOR + DIRECTOR, BREATHE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM
Yoga was part of my elective curriculum while I was earning my Kinesiology degree at McMaster University back in 1995. I became filled with curiosity to learn more about this ancient philosophy and practice. During this time I was also mending a significant injury and I found that the physical postures were very effective therapy that surely advanced my healing process.
Classical Hatha was my gateway into the yoga world, and after my schooling was complete I found my community of yogis in Toronto. Soon afterwards, I began studying the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, and was blessed with the opportunity to be certified by David Swenson to teach the primary series. I was also fortunate to attend his classes in Montréal when Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois was touring the world in 2000 with his family. So many methods of modern practice are based on the sequences that he made famous through the Mysore Institute, that I view the primary series as a somatic alphabet.
During these last 20 years I have been guiding private and group classes in asana yoga, and training teachers in Toronto and abroad. I’ve accrued thousands of hours teaching in Yoga Studios and have developed & delivered teacher education courses in Vinyasa Yoga, Advanced Anatomy, Yin Yoga, and Yoga for Seniors.
It is my pure joy and great privilege to share my own passion for discovery by facilitating the journey of students and aspiring teachers of yoga. We are dimensionally layered beings, and I love to guide others to reach and tone those layers in the context of movement, rooted in yoga philosophy.
